With over fifteen years of experience as a professional educator, Spencer is a holistic, student-centered advisor passionate about career development and experiential education. Prior to working at the ICC, Spencer enjoyed a wide range of work experiences, with past job titles including English teacher, graphic designer, recording artist, knife salesman, university housing manager, published author, sorority advisor, camp counselor, barista, and concert promoter. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing with minors in Spanish Literature and Studio Art from UC San Diego, a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership from the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, and a Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. When not at work, he can be found cooking with his partner, hiking with his dog, reading with his son, or visiting his family in Sonoma County.
