Gather Necessary Documents for Employment and Onboarding
If you are considering getting a job (on or off campus), there are a number of employment-related documents that an employer will need to verify before they are able to hire you and schedule your first day at work. These documents are also needed if you have a paid internship or volunteer opportunity.
If you don't have these documents in Davis, you may want to consider gathering the following in advance so that you are ready for onboarding once offered a position.
Form I-9 is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of individuals hired for employment in the United States. This may include documents like a U.S.passport or a combination of identification (drivers license or AggieCard) and right to work documents (Social Security card or birth certificate). Original documents will need to be presented during the onboarding process–copies are not accepted. Learn more about Form I-9 and see a full list of acceptable documents.
A copy of your vaccination records may be required if you plan to work in a healthcare or animal research setting.
