What you wear to the fair makes a lasting impression. Don't overlook this step! Wear clothing that is clean, pressed and businesslike - a cut above the "Student Look." No jeans or messy clothing even if the company you are interested in has a more relaxed dress code. You do not need to wear a suit, but if you are close to graduation, it may be a good idea. Here are some quick tips:

  • Pressed clothes, no wrinkles
  • Clean and polished business shoes
  • Minimal jewelry, no facial piercings and cover your tattoos
  • No sleeveless clothing, spaghetti straps, bare midriffs or low-cut blouses
  • Skirts should be just above the knee when seated and not too tight
  • Men should wear a plain undershirt under their dress shirt
  • Go light on the cologne/perfume or do not use fragrance at all since some people have allergies
  • No gum chewing
  • Simple classic outfits win over "fashion"
