Federal Work-Study Experiment

Use Your Federal Work-Study (FWS) to Get Hired

UC Davis is participating in the Federal Work-Study Experiment. This program will expand the number and kinds of opportunities available to students awarded Work-Study to explore career interests - including experiences in the private-sector.

These paid positions provide the opportunity to explore careers you are interested in after graduation. They can also give you an opportunity to apply coursework, improve learning and lead to better career outcomes.

Employers that are participating in the experiment will post their positions in Handshake. Filter job postings by searching XFWS in Handshake.

To learn more about these positions, receive support on how to be a competitive applicant (resume and cover letter review, etc.) and obtain information on the application process, register here.

The Internship and Career Center (ICC) will notify you by email as new opportunities become available in Handshake. Make sure to have the Email option enabled for the setting "I am sent a new message" under Notification Preferences in your Handshake account.

If you have questions regarding your Work-Study award, please contact Financial Aid and Scholarships via Contact an Expert.
